Edredon Bleu is a surprise possibility for Galway Plate. Trainer Henrietta Knight yesterday hinted that the Galway Plate next Summer may be Edredon Bleu´s next target following the gelding´s impressive win at Wincanton yesterday.The 12 year old, whose list of 20 wins includes the 2000 Champion Chase, is to be retired for the season with Knight stating 'this is definately his last race of the season as there is simply nothing else for him. He is truly amazing and doesnt owe anyone anything.' She added 'I have searched for another race for him but there isnt one, so we will have to consider the Galway Plate over 2m6f at the end of July as it´s right-handed round there and the decent ground would suit.'
