Egerton Favouring France For Deco

Frankie Dettori, booked to ride Linda's Lad in the Vodafone Derby, is set to team up with Charles Egerton and partner Art Deco in Sunday's Prix du Jockey Club at Chantilly.

Egerton has revealed that he is favouring the French Derby, over an extended mile and a quarter, for his Dee Stakes winner.

The Chaddleworth trainer said: 'Art Deco will probably run in France and if he does Frankie Dettori will ride him.

'When you look at his pedigree it is uncertain that he would get a mile and a half but we know he stays a mile and a quarter as he showed at Chester. I have left him in the English Derby but I am favouring France.'

Art Deco is thought to have improved since his Listed race success earlier in the month.

'He seems to handle all types of going and has pleased me in his work since the Dee Stakes,' Egerton added.
