Elliott considers next move for Outlander Gordon Elliott will consult owners Gigginstown House Stud before finalising future targets for Outlander following his fine effort in Sunday's John Durkan Memorial Punchestown Chase. The former Willie Mullins inmate was runner-up in the Titanic Belfast Chase at Down Royal on his first start for his new trainer, before falling at the final fence when appearing to have last month's Clonmel Oil Chase at his mercy. He returned to Grade One level at Punchestown and ran an excellent race to fill the runner-up spot behind former stable companion and dual Cheltenham Gold Cup runner-up Djakadam. Elliott said: "I think he was 13lb wrong (at the weights) with Djakadam, but we knew he was in good form and I said to the lads walking out 'wherever he finishes today is as good as he is'. I thought we had him piping and he should win a few races. "Gigginstown have obviously got plenty of those types of horses, so we'll have a chat with the boys and see where we go." Outlander holds entries over the festive period in both the King George VI Chase at Kempton and the Lexus Chase at Leopardstown.
