Elliott excited by Lossiemouth rematch Gordon Elliott is looking forward to the rematch with Lossiemouth in the Irish Champion Hurdle at Leopardstown on Sunday. Brighterdayshead made a pleasing return to action when chasing home Willie Mullins’ charge at the Dublin venue over Christmas and Elliott feels she has stepped forward from the outing. Elliott shelves chasing plans for Grade 1 return A chasing campaign was shelved this season for the Kapgarde mare and she bids for another Grade 1 success at the venue, having been a stunning winner of the Neville Hotels Hurdle at the track in December 2024. “I was absolutely thrilled with her and we think there is loads of improvement in her,” Elliott told Dave Keena. “She worked last week and worked very very well, we were very happy with her. “Lossiemouth will be very hard to beat. I know we’ve come on but I’d say Lossiemouth wasn’t doing a whole lot in front. “I’m not saying we’re going to beat her but I’d think my mare is definitely better than she was going to Leopardstown the last day. “Whether we’re good enough or not, I’m not sure. “Shane McCann rides her every day and he’s very happy with her. She’s in good form and we’re really looking forward to running her.”
