Elliott & Mullins represented at Downpatrick Downpatrick's fixture on Wednesday features two expensive equine purchases, from varying markets, and now representing both Gordon Elliott and Willie Mullins, on a seven-race card. Elliott's Kashmiri Sunset contests the opening Count Me In Maiden Hurdle and the son of Tiger Hill can be expected to win on his third hurdles start. Carrying the colours of Paul and Clare Rooney, Kashmiri Sunset was purchased for 150,000 guineas in October 2014 having proven himself with winning form in British Flat races. His recent third at Clonmel indicated his time could be nearing and he might prove too strong for main rival Runyon Rattler. The concluding Posh Nosh Bumper sees the similarly expensive Mullins-trained Master Of Verse take on six rivals. A son of Milan, he was purchased in January 2014 for £150,000 following his point-to-point win at Dromahane. However, Master Of Verse has run just twice since and while he showed plenty on his bumper debut, now bids to overcome a 427-day layoff. His trainer can be relied upon to have him ready, though, and he should prove a worthy adversary for Elliott's fellow point-to-point winner Carrig Cathal, who runs in the Doran's Pride colours of Tom Doran. Elsewhere on the card, the Jim Dreaper-trained Cerca Trova bids to complete a hat-trick of wins in the Racing Post Android App Handicap Chase. The mare has been in fine form over hurdles in recent times and although switching to fences again, can be expected to go close from a chase mark of 84, which is 8lb below her current hurdles rating.
