Gordon Elliott scooped six winners between Ireland’s two meetings today, as Theflyingking (6/5f) gave the trainer a Wexford double in the concluding Wexfordraces.ie Bumper.

Ridden by Harry Swan, Theflingking appeared out-paced with three furlongs to race but finished well to eventually get the better of Thedeviluno by a half-length, with the pair finishing 15 lengths clear of Kilgame Speculatrix started the ball rolling for Elliott in winning Wexford’s opener and later completed a Danny Gilligan-partnered Down Royal four-timer.

Following the sixth win by Theflyingking, Elliott’s assistant Ian 'Busty' Amond said "he is probably still learning and is a bit green, but at least he got the job done. It probably suited him better going this way around (left-handed). He is a grand horse and will be a grand horse when he goes jumping.

"We've had a good day and if we had that every day we would be alright."
