Elliott strikes in Wetherby raid Gordon Elliott saddled just his second ever winner at Wetherby when Jimmy The Hat was the beneficiary of a typical Tony McCoy ride in the Celebrate 10 Years Of Racing UK Selling Hurdle. Sent off the 5-6 favourite, Jimmy The Hat was a winner at Ayr over fences in March but had been well beaten on his next start at Downpatrick. Down in class and back over hurdles, Jimmy The Hat looked reluctant at several points in the race and was only third jumping the last flight. However, McCoy, as he has done on countless occasions throughout his record-breaking career, made his mount's mind up for him and eventually he consented to win going away by three lengths.
