Elliott waits with Sound

Gordon Elliott faces an anxious wait to see if ante-post favourite Beautiful Sound will get a run in Monday's Labrokes Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse.

The Presenting gelding is currently 9/2 favourite with the sponsors but needs two to come out of the race to make the line up.

Elliott reports his charge is good form ahead of the 3m5f contest and is relying on the drying ground forcing withdrawals.

“He's an intended runner and with the ground drying out we might have a chance (of getting a run),” said Elliott. “We're very happy with him.”

Elliott also has Backstage engaged in the race and is hoping that his run at Aintree didn't leave it's mark:-

“He seems fine but we won't really know until we run him back.”

The Easter meeting at Fairyhouse kicks off on Sunday and the Trim trainer has Roi Du Mee in the Powers Gold Cup.

“He could do with a little rain but he's in good form,” he reported of the Gigginstown runner.
