Adam Kirby finished a memorable Royal Ascot with victory aboard Commissioned in the closing Queen Alexandra Stakes.

Kirby claimed his third win of the week in the final race of the meeting, adding the 2m 5f marathon to victories in the King's Stand Stakes on Profitable and Prince Of Wales's Stakes on outsider My Dream Boat.

The jockey also celebrated the birth of his first child on Tuesday, a matter of hours before Profitable gave him Group One success.

His week ended on another victorious note as he guided the 12/1 shot, trained in Ireland by Gordon Elliott, to victory in his first run on the Flat in 948 days - he had switched to hurdles in 2013 and won three races for John Ferguson.

After front-runner Simenon faded two furlongs out, 40/1 outsider Cayirli took over and appeared to be on his way to a shock success until Commissioned found an extra gear in the last 200 yards.

Well-backed Clondaw Warrior, looking to give Ryan Moore a fourth winner of the day, stayed on strongly from the rear of the field to claim third ahead of fellow 7/2 joint favourite Oriental Fox, last year's winner.
