Emotional Hedging scores for Cromwell and Carroll Sent off at 15/2, Emotional Hedging scored a first success on his second start when landing Roscommon’s Irish EBF Auction Series Race for jockey Gary Carroll and owners Perennial Racing Syndicate. Runner-up on debut at Sligo 13 days ago, Emotional Hedging today raced in mid-division before eventually progressing to lead close home, scoring by a half-length from Seven Nation Army . Troy Cullen, race planner for winning trainer Gavin Cromwell, reported "We’re delighted as he was always a nice horse at home and had been working well before he went to Sligo, and ran very well that day. I’d say the filly of Jessie’s (Harrington, Lady Patrona) that beat him there is probably a decent enough filly. “He came on a good bit for the run and we’re delighted to win a good race like that with him. He’s by the right sire, Bayside Boy, who seems to be flying. “Gary said he put his head down and galloped the whole way to the line. There is probably a bit more to come from him and he’s progressing well. He’s a pretty straightforward horse and has a great attitude. I’m not sure where we’ll go next.” Quotes from Gary Carson
