The Gavin Cromwell-trained Endless Talking landed a quickfire double for trainer Gavin Cromwell and jockey Keith Donoghue with victory in the Tramore Derby Beginners Chase

The 11/8 favourite was in a comfortable position throughout, sitting behind Mercury Mission for much of the race. His only real scare came with a mistake at the last fence, but he still managed to run out an overall impressive two-and-three-quarter-length winner.

Speaking after the race, jockey Keith Donoghue said:

"Bar the last, he jumped well and we went a good gallop. I got into it easy but when I actually let him on, he did idle a little bit in front.

"I was a bit long at the last and it was probably the first fence that I had asked him properly. He did well to find a leg.

"In fairness to the runner-up, I thought jumping three out that he was going to walk but he kept going. We were after going a good gallop as well so it was a good performance.

"He was off that rating and it's hard to leave those rated beginners behind, they are a great job like that.

"He's after winning a maiden (hurdle) and a beginners now so hopefully he can keep building on it."
