Enthusiastically transformed in headgear A combination of headgear seemed to do the trick for the Donnacha O’Brien-trained Enthusiastically as she opened her account in the seven furlong nursery at Dundalk. The Ten Sovereigns filly had been well beaten in recent starts and was tried in a hood and blinkers for the first time today, going to post a 10/1 shot having been backed from 16/1. Chris Hayes was soon in front on his mount and she stuck on well in the closing stages to post a half-length success over Monvoe. The winner was owned by the trainer’s sister Sarah and Hayes said: "Ideally be in front or, if not, be very close to the pace. She (Sarah O'Brien) didn't tell me too much about the headgear or anything - just said to keep it nice and straightforward, get a good fill, and kick on from there. "I got going sooner than ideal, but Gary (Carroll on Wicklow Gap) was putting a bit of pressure on me and I said she is either going to stay with this weight or she's not. "It is nice, it is important. "She's a frame, she's quite tall. I was looking at the opposition down at the start and, to me, she looked just a nicer individual than them. I'd say when she fills into her frame, I can't see why she won't improve." (Quotes by Michael Graham)
