Henry de Bromhead has confirmed that Envoi Allen will bid to win the BetVictor Champion Chase for a third time at Down Royal this coming Saturday.

Claiming this Grade 1 prize in 2022 and again 12-months ago, the admirable 11-year-old was beaten by just a neck in the 2023 renewal.

"Envoi Allen will run on Saturday, he loves Down Royal," de Bromhead revealed at Wexford yesterday.

"He is in good form, he seems really well and I'm delighted with him."

Recently successful in a Punchestown Grade 3, Heart Wood is another de Bromhead representative among the 13 entries, however, he is unlikely to line-up.

"He came out of Punchestown really well, he's in great form. I'd imagine we won't go to Down Royal with him but we'll see," the Knockeen handler added.
