Eswarah Definite George Runner

Vodafone Oaks winner Eswarah will take her place in Saturday´s King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes, after being confirmed a definite runner by Hamdan Al Maktoum´s racing manager Angus Gold.

Michael Jarvis´s unbeaten filly will be the only female runner in the summer showpiece but has plenty of experience at the Berkshire track having won two of her three career starts there.

She scored in maiden and Listed company at Newbury before her impressive defeat of Something Exciting in the Epsom Classic.

'She is going to run,' said Gold. 'We just wanted to make sure she was in one piece. We also had a good discussion about the race and we decided that she had every right to run.

'She seems in great form - everyone knows it will be a tough test against the top older colts. They are a good, solid bunch and will be very hard to beat but she has got a pretty good weight allowance.

'Michael Jarvis says she has definitely improved since Epsom, and obviously she will need to have, but we don´t want to protect her and we will find out how good she is on Saturday.'

Gold also confirmed that the Sheikh will have two runners in the King George after Marcus Tregoning´s Newbury specialist Mubtaker was given the go-ahead.

'He is going to run too. He is not getting any younger but Marcus is happy with him,' he added.
