Europe Given Greatwood Go-Ahead

Henry de Bromhead will let ante-post Greatwood Hurdle favourite Sizing Europe take his chance at Cheltenham on Sunday ? although he is sad to see his charge saddled with a minimum of 11st 6lb.

With the country's highest-rated hurdlers absent from the Grade Three handicap, David Pipe's Osana currently tops the weights.

But de Bromhead still fancies the chances of his five-year-old, who was travelling like the winner on his seasonal debut in a Listed hurdle at Punchestown before falling two out.

The trainer said: 'I was disappointed to see the weights go up so much as I would have loved to see Sizing Europe run off a nice light weight.

'He is a horse I like a lot and he looked ring-rusty when he fell last time out at Punchestown, when it looked like he was going to run very well.

'I've done a serious amount of schooling with him since and he schooled before leaving for Cheltenham. I couldn't be happier with him.

'He won on good ground at Punchestown and ran well on good to firm at Fairyhouse in April, so the ground shouldn't be an issue for him.'
