Two instant millionaires will be crowned at the Curragh racecourse on Sunday September 28th. The Parknasilla Hotel Goffs Millions race day is Europe's richest race day and features two races exclusively for horses bought at last year's Goffs Million yearling sale, with a prize of ?1,000,000 to the owner of each winner.
Leading contenders this year for the Parknasilla Hotel Goffs Colts Million include Albahan trained by Kevin Prendergast, the Jim Bolger trained pair Intense Focus and Gan Amhras, together with a strong British trained contingent including recent Doncaster winner Awinnersgame, Group 3 winner Soul City trained by Richard Hannon and the Paul Cole trained Cruikadyke. Luminous Eyes, Oui Say Oui, Carefree Smile, Baileys Cacao, Stan's Cool Cat and the Barry Hills trained High Healed feature among the likely contenders for the Fillies Million.
The race day will be followed less than 24 hours later by the commencement of the three day Goffs Million Yearling Sale from 29th September to 1st October which will see more than two hundred overseas bloodstock buyers as well as a large domestic purchaser base attend the sales at Goffs with a view to finding the winner of the 2009 Million races.
