'Exciting' One Track Mind ready for fences Warren Greatrex feels the "sky is the limit" for One Track Mind over fences next season. The six-year-old saw off all-comers to win the Ladbrokes Champion Stayers Hurdle in Punchestown, to pull off a long-held plan for connections. While the temptation was there to stay hurdling, Greatrex is keen to see how he gets on over bigger obstacles. The Upper Lambourn handler said: "He jumps hurdles like a chaser and while it is always tempting to stay hurdling, having won a Grade One and proved he is a high-class hurdler, the sky is the limit for him over fences. "He's got everything you want in a chaser and is very exciting. He's still a bit unfurnished and you'd imagine he should come back even stronger with another summer on his back. "We'll have a proper novice season over fences as he's only six. I know Thistlecrack is likely to be aimed at the Gold Cup but he is a couple of years older. "We knew what we had with him but we brought him along steadily. Hopefully he'll be a Gold Cup horse one day. "Punchestown was our aim right at the start of the season and we used Haydock as a stepping-stone. "We wanted to bring him last year but he wasn't quite right. "The big gap between Haydock and Punchestown really helped him develop physically and when a plan like that comes off it can help make you look clever, even when you are not!"
