Now The King, a Median Auction Maiden winner at Dundalk last October when trained by Michael O'Callaghan, made a winning debut for new connections when scoring at Happy Valley today.

The Baltic King gelding who had his name changed to Delightful Laos landed today's handicap off a mark of 71 on his first start in over 200 days and returned at tote odds of 59/1.

Michael O’Callaghan said at the time of the Dundalk success: “He’s a lovely horse and we’ve thought a lot of him all along.

“The ground was his undoing at the Curragh last time. He’s a big raw horse and was unsuited by a stiff mile on heavy ground. He won’t be a horse until next year and at home I’ve thought he’s a Stakes horse.

Kildare born jockey Neil Callan was also among the winners in Hong Kong today when he partnered Acclaimed Light to victory in the penultimate race.
