Peregrine Run is set for a couple of trips over to Britain after an encouraging effort in the Mayo National at Ballinrobe.

The King's Theatre gelding has been a star for Peter Fahey in recent years and showed there was still plenty left in the tank when third to Rock Road in the €60,000 handicap late last month.

The 12-year-old had disappointed connections on his return over hurdles at Killarney a couple of weeks previously and the Monasterevin trainer is set to stick to chasing with his stable stalwart.

“There are a couple of nice chases for him over in England and we might target them on nice ground,” he revealed.

“If he happens to win one we might come back and try him in something here, maybe even on the Flat, but his next couple of runs will be in England.

“I was thrilled with his run the last day, he ran a cracker.

“He didn't do much in Killarney, he just doddled around and he doesn't have the same spark over hurdles.

“In fairness Sean (Flanagan) got a fair oul spin out of him last time and he'll go over and ride him.”
