Pat Fahy is in no rush to make plans for Morning Assembly as he eases his star chaser back into training following a summer break.

The seven-year-old enjoyed an excellent novice campaign over fences last term, winning twice at Punchestown before placing in the Topaz Novice Chase at Leopardstown, the RSA Chase at Cheltenham and the Growise Champion Novice Chase at the Punchestown Festival.

Morning Assembly returned home 'very sore' after his final run of the campaign, but Fahy reports his charge to have made a good recovery and he is now back in the fold.

The trainer said: "He's back on the walker and we're just easing him back into it.

"He wasn't right after Punchestown, but we've given him plenty of time and hopefully there won't be any problems on that ground.

"A lot will depend on how he is going nearer the time. There are no concrete plans at this stage, but you'd hope by November, he'd be well ready for a run.

"Hopefully we can get him back to his best form and he's something to look forward to, but you should never count your chickens before they hatch."

Another exciting member of the Fahy team is Western Boy, who pushed the top-class Vautour close at Punchestown in January.

The trainer has yet to decide whether his five-year-old will remain over hurdles or pursue a chasing career this autumn.

Fahy said: "There are no plans for him either as yet. We're just getting him back and we'll see which way we go later on.

"He's still a young horse, so we have the option of staying over hurdles if we want to."
