Fairyhouse call inspection tomorrow for Thursday's card There will be an inspection at Fairyhouse tomorrow ahead of Thursday's scheduled fixture, with the course presently frozen. Declarations are being made this morning for the seven card chase/hurdle fixture although the meeting is in some doubt. Clerk of the Course Brendan Sheridan reports “ahead of declarations this morning for racing at Fairyhouse on Thursday, the track is currently unfit for racing due to frost. Parts of the track are frozen following two nights of low temperatures with last night getting down to at least minus three degrees. "We don't have the most favourable forecast with temperatures only rising to a high of two degrees for a couple of hours today before dropping again tonight back to minus three. "In light of that forecast and due to the current ground conditions, we will have a 12pm inspection on Wednesday to assess the prospects of racing on Thursday." Elsewhere the ground at Navan, which races on Saturday, is currently soft. Widespread frost is expected over the coming days but it is forecast to return to milder conditions on Friday. At Thurles, which races on Sunday, the going is yielding. Widespread frost is forecast up to and including Friday although milder and unsettled conditions are forecast through the weekend. The course has fresh ground but the situation is being monitored.
