Fairyhouse meeting in the balance Officials at Fairyhouse are not too confident about the chances of the rescheduled 'Hattons Grace' meeting taking place on Wednesday. Three Grade One races were washed away on Sunday after the County Meath track was hit by a deluge of rain in the early hours, and the weather forecast looks unfavourable ahead of the mid-week fixture. Racecourse manager Caroline Gray said: "Unless we see significant progress today then we could be in trouble. The rain came down in buckets yesterday and we had 34mm of rain overnight on Saturday." "We then had a heavy frost last night and I imagine we will have a look this afternoon. Depending on how things are we may call an inspection for before declaration time in the morning." "It is due to be dry and bright this afternoon but we are due to get up to 10mm of rain tomorrow and then showers are forecast on Wednesday. The track is still pretty waterlogged and the water table is so high."
