Fairyhouse Saturday transferred to Thursday FAIRYHOUSE SATURDAY 27th NOVEMBER TRANSFERRED TO THURSDAY 2nd DECEMBER ================== Due to the adverse weather forecast for the weekend, with ground frosts predicted for both Friday and Saturday nights, HRI has agreed to a request from Fairyhouse Racecourse to transfer its fixture on Saturday 27th November to THURSDAY 2nd DECEMBER. Trainers are requested to note that FRESH entries for this meeting will close by 12 noon on MONDAY 29th NOVEMBER with declarations to run to be made by 10am on Wednesday 1st December. Explaining the decision, Peter Roe, acting Fairyhouse manager, said: "Following a committee meeting this evening we have decided to move the Fairyhouse Saturday card to next Thursday in order to give the best possible chance of racing going ahead on Sunday. "With three top quality Grade One races on the premier day of National Hunt racing in Ireland pre-Christmas, we want to do everything possible to preserve Sunday's card. "Due to continuing track work we planned to race on a small section of the same ground on both days of the Winter Festival. In light of the adverse weather forecast we feel this section of ground might be unable to take two days racing back to back. "We will be putting frost covers at the take off and landings of all fences and hurdles to protect Sunday's ground. "It is an unfortunate situation. However, we feel it is in the best interest of racing and by transferring the Saturday meeting to Thursday it will allow time for the track to be prepared to the best possible standard for what is in itself a high quality day's racing."
