Fallon Damson Decision On Hold Kieren Fallon has yet to commit himself to riding ante-post favourite Damson in the UltimatePoker.com 1000 Guineas at Newmarket on Sunday. The former champion jockey, who is in his first season as number one to Aidan O´Brien, will partner the David Wachman-trained filly in a workout at Newmarket tomorrow and he will be keeping a close eye on the weather before making his decision. 'Whether I ride her will depend on the ground - she needs top of the ground,' Fallon said yesterday. 'Aidan´s horse for the 1000 Guineas has been working nicely, but Damson did well last year.' O´Brien still has Virginia Waters in the Rowley Mile Classic, in which 23 fillies remain following today´s confirmation stage. Wachman has been happy with Damson´s preparation and he said: 'I think my three-year-olds all seem fairly forward this season and I´m looking forward to the race. 'One of the horses she has been working with at home is Indesatchel, so obviously when that horse won the Greenham it gave us a good pointer. 'Everything she has done so far has pleased us.' The Mark Johnston-trained Market Trend was the only supplementary entry at yesterday´s noon deadline. The going on the Rowley Mile is good to firm, firm in places, and there are no plans to water at this stage as rain is forecast. ? PA Sport
