Fallon on duty for Ballydoyle at Leopardstown

Kieren Fallon, who won the Arc on Dylan Thomas in his time as Ballydoyle number one (in the position from 2005 until receiving an 18-month ban in January 2008) is back in the hot-seat on an Aidan O'Brien-trained blue-blood on Sunday when he partners Recital in the Group 2 Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial Stakes at Leopardstown.

Fallon, 46 since February, rode Viscount Nelson for O'Brien in the 2010 StanJames.com 2,000 Guineas when that one finished 11th behind Makfi in a contest where St Nicholas Abbey was sent off the even money favourite and finished sixth.

Fallon said at that time: "It's great to be riding for them. My last day riding for Aidan was when Dylan Thomas won the Arc, so we ended on a good note.

"I had some great years at Ballydoyle and we won almost everything that there was to be won with two-year-olds, three-year-olds, older horses, colts and fillies. The only thing we didn't win was a big sprint.

"It's a great team to work for and riding for them was a joy."

Fallon saw his greyhound Uncle Eoin finish runner-up in the Red Mills Produce Stakes 2011 Final at Clonmel greyhound stadium last Sunday night and at Leopardstown he will face six rivals on Recital, including two stable companions Memphis Tennessee and Regent Street. The David Wachman-trained Giant Step also represents Mrs John Magnier and Michael Tabor and the line-up is completed by Paul Deegan's Best Hello, Dermot Weld's Rich Tapestry and John Oxx's Zanughan.

Fallon also rides Nantucket Bay for Ballydoyle in the 3.15. (EM)
