The son of Notnowcato had sprung to the public's attention when readily winning a Newmarket handicap earlier in the month and didn't disappoint his supporters in running out an impressive winner by a length and a quarter.

Ryan Moore always had his mount to the fore on the far side of the track and the gelding, who was having just the fourth start of his career, ran on strongly to prevail.

He was chased home by 50-1 chance Mister Music with fourth placed Compton (40-1) also racing on the far side but the hard-luck story of the race was arguably third home Bronze Angel.

The field had raced in two groups until gradually merging from halfway but Hayley Turner's mount pulled clear down the centre of the track with over a furlong to run.

Despite the lack of company, the gelding ran on strongly despite edging right-handed towards his rivals but never looked like catching the winner who won in the style of a well handicapped horse.

The Ger Lyons trained Piri Wango ran well to take fifth under Frankie Dettori at the odds of 12/1.
