Fehily could be back in 10 days

Noel Fehily could be back in the saddle within 10 days.

The Irishman had looked a major doubt to be on board Kauto Star in the King George after injuring his wrist at Newbury last Friday.

But now it appears he'll be back in plenty of time to continue deputising for Ruby Walsh on the Ditcheat superstar.

And the jockey could even ride at Cheltenham's big meeting on December 10 and 11.

Fehily told Betfair on Tuesday: "I saw the specialist last night and he was over the moon with the wrist.

"It was not as bad as I first feared - it was only dislocated, and not fractured and broken - and the specialist told me to kick on with it!

"It's a massive relief, as it looked very bleak after the fall on Rivaliste, and I could be back riding in the next 10 days, with a possibility that I could even be riding at Cheltenham next week."

Paul Nicholls meanwhile commented: "It is great news for Noel that the injury isn't as bad as was initially thought. I was gutted for him. But if he is back for Cheltenham next week, I will have some decent rides waiting for him."
