'Fiercely consistent' Getaway is a game winner under O'Keeffe Racing off a career high mark of 102, A Nod To Getaway showed likeable battling attributes to claim the Littleton Handicap Chase under Darragh O'Keeffe. A model of consistency and registering his third win of the year, the Paul O'Flynn-trained eight-year-old was clearly suited by the strong pace set by Willywampus. Taking over from the front-runner three out, he was ridden on the long run to the last and was joined by the strong travelling Howya Luveen (9/2) before that obstacle. However, that Ross O'Sullivan-trained grey ultimately couldn't match the winner when push came to shove and there was a length-and-a-quarter between them on crossing the line. The front pair drew 12-lengths clear of Finnians Row (11/1) in third, while 5/2 favourite Kazakh D'arthel was another four-and-a-half lengths back in fourth. "He is a fiercely consistent horse and gives his running every day he goes out," O'Flynn enthused. "Darragh said he got a big jump at the top of the hill and was enjoying it so he left him bowl along. He idled a bit in the closing stages but he stayed on well again. "He'll go on any ground, he is a tough old bugger and his owners Denis and John Goold are very good to me." STEWARDS REPORTS * T. Power Roche, rider of Nephin Beg, trained by P.J. Rothwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled. Additional reporting by Thomas Weekes
