FIRST BALLOT FIRST First Ballot showed his appreciation of drier ground at Kempton Park today with a performance that has earned him a trip to Cheltenham next month. He made much of the running in the AndersElite Novices` Hurdle and had enough in hand to repel the challenge of Razer Blade by two lengths.First Ballot, who is trained by David Elsworth for long-standing patron Jeff Smith, is set to tackle the Royal & SunAlliance Novices` Hurdle at Cheltenham.'We put First Ballot in the Horses In Training Sale but he failed to reach a price of 50,000 guineas and he still has the potential to do well on the Flat,' said Elsworth.'We`ve had to wait to give him his second run over hurdles as the ground has been soft from October and he`s definitely better on this sort of ground.'
