First chase win for Kingdom Calling Ridden by Gary Noonan, Kingdom Calling (15/2) recorded his win over fences in Tramore's Heinz Pollmeier Memorial Handicap Steeplechase over just shy of two miles. A 250/1 maiden hurdle winner at Listowel in 2024, the Buck's Boum gelding had been winless since. He improved to hit the front before two out and, despite going badly out to his left at that obstacle, stayed on well to hold Presenting Lad by three-parts of a length. "He jumped to the stable yard at the second-last, but he actually likes this track," said winning trainer Eoin McCarthy. "I'm delighted for the lads (Killarney Racing Syndicate) who stuck with him as it has been a frustrating time since he won his maiden hurdle." Additional reporting by Tom Weekes
