Five up for Dungannon as Smyth records double There was further Irish success across the water tonight when Lee Smyth recorded a double at Wolverhampton. His first winner came in the second race on the card the 5f maiden stakes when his Fourtowns Flyer made all to win comfortably by three lengths at 4/1 under George Baker. The five year old was having his third start after finishing seventh in Cork and Hamilton when 50/1 and 100/1 respectively. The double was completed after his 10/1 shot Alqaahir won the penultimate race on the card with Robert Winston aboard. The bay colt who started his racing career in the Godolphin colours was 20th of 22 at The Curragh on Monday last behind Whiteball Wonder but he put that run behind him here to score by two lengths. Coincidentally Smyth and James Lambe both train their horses in Dungannon, Co Tyrone.
