Trained locally by John Flavin, Ag Obair Go Crua defied top weight to take the concluding Tom Carroll Memorial Handicap Chase at Tramore.

Prominent throughout under Darragh O'Keeffe, the Tus Maith Syndicate-owned 7/2 chance led after the third last fence.

Strongly pressed by market leader Duffys Hodey between the final two obstacles, Ag Obair Go Crua stayed on best to win by a length.

John Flavin: "Darragh gave him an unbelievable ride. He made a bad mistake at the last with a circuit to go, but he grabbed a hold of him after that and just said we're doing it now today, and thankfully he did.

"He is a grand horse and it was only his second run in a handicap over fences. He won a handicap hurdle at Gowran before.

"It's nice to get it today at the local track with all the local people."

Winning rider Darragh O'Keeffe was completing a treble on the card.
