Florale flourishes late in Killarney opener The opening Killarney Park 3-Y-O Maiden Hurdle this afternoon produced a cracking finish with Cite Florale bursting through late on to land the spoils. Henry de Bromhead’s charge went to post a well-backed 5/6 favourite on her jumping debut. She got hampered jumping the third last though and came under pressure before the next flight. Darragh O’Keeffe got a good tune from the Galiway filly late on, however, as she came between Private Larry and Minella Buoy to stick her head in front and score by a neck. Minella Buoy just prevailed by a short-head for the runner-up spot in a tight affair. Stable representative Robbie Power said:- “We’re delighted with that. Darragh said she was a bit green and got badly hampered three out. “She showed a great attitude after that to come back. There wasn’t a whole lot of room after the last to the winning post for her to go through and she showed a great attitude to go through that gap. “Darragh gave her a brilliant ride, she’ll improve a lot for that. “She’s got a great jump in her but juveniles first time up can be green and she was green. She’ll improve a lot.”
