Foley completes Dundalk double Shane Foley registered a Dundalk double today as last month’s Prix de l'Opera-winning jockey completed the feat on the Danny Murphy-trained Ballintogher (9/4) in the Now Racing Every Wednesday At Dundalk Maiden. Having shown promise in his initial maidens, the son of Gregorian was beaten ten lengths on his course debut in October but today raced prominently throughout before scoring by a half-length from Heaven's Wish. Murphy said "Rory O'Brien (owner) was on the WhatsApp to me, he's over in America, and his wife is here with his daughter. It was great to win with them because I think he is a nice horse. "He mightn't be in love with the surface, because at home he works an awful lot better, although the last day I just thought he got a bit of stage fright. "We'd like to put him away until next year and get him out early in the spring. He's by Gregorian, so a little ease in the ground would help. I like him and I think he will be a nice six/seven-furlong horse. With a good winter into him, he will be a strong horse next year.” Regarding Foley, whose earlier winner came on the Jessica Harrington-trained Seoul Force, Murphy added "I suppose we had the right man on board as he is riding like a demon.” Quotes from Michael Graham
