Fontwell off Officials at Fontwell have taken the early decision to abandon Tuesday's fixture due to a frozen track. Clerk of the course Ed Arkell announced an inspection for 2pm today but with the course frozen in places and conditions unlikely to improve, officials felt there was little point in waiting any longer. "There are areas of the course that are still frozen, including areas under the sheets," said Arkell. "The temperature has just hit zero now and will be dropping again within the next hour or so. "We're forecast anything between minus 4C and minus 7C overnight and it won't get up to more than 1C on Tuesday, so we've had to call it off as there is no point hanging on and upsetting people."
