Fortune favours Express in incident-packed division two Tingarran Express had good fortune on her side when coming out best in division two of the Glenary Handicap Hurdle at Clonmel. The whole complexion of the race changed two out where Tir Og held a about a length advantage when falling and brought down Heidi’s Frontiere who was close behind. The 7/2 favourite Bossofthebus wasn’t making any headway in fifth when hampered and unseating rider. Tingarran Express was soon in front and drew clear on the run-in under Simon Torrens to beat Sharetheknowledge by five and a half lengths with Old Kenmare a further 11 lengths adrift in third. The daughter of Westerner gained her only previous win also at this venue last year. Winning trainer Denise O’Shea said, “That is brilliant as this little woman (Tingarran Express) is very special to me and my family at home. She completely deserves this as she won for us last year and finished second six or seven times. "She is only 15hh and wears her heart on her sleeve but she can be tricky, so you'd want to know her. The hardest part is getting her out of the stable yard, around the parade ring and out, so she keeps me very fit at home. "She is owned by fantastic people including Derek Beausang who initially came about and bought her. He was always a good friend of our family but lives in Australia, so never gets to see her but he has been brilliant to me." Quotes by Tom Weekes
