Fosters set for Cheltenham test Tom Mullins is set to let Fosters Cross try his hand against some of England's top young chasers in the Independent Newspaper Novices' Chase at Cheltenham on Sunday. The seven-year-old is in a rich vein of form at present having won twice over hurdles and made an impressive chasing debut at Galway on his last three starts. The Paul Nicholls-trained Tataniano and Emma Lavelle's Kangaroo Court are just two of his possible rivals at the weekend and Mullins is looking forward to the challenge. "He'd be more than likely to run at Cheltenham on Sunday, but we stuck him at Punchestown on the same day to have a look," said Mullins. "If Punchestown is soft or heavy and Cheltenham is going to be good, or good to yielding, then that would sway us to going over for the better ground. "He surprised us a little bit when he won in soft ground at Galway the last day but he is in such good form at the moment. "We know he is even better on better ground so we thought we'd go to England and see what happens. "We might find there are one or two better than him on the day and I suppose you'd have to worry that it's only his second run over fences, but he does jump well and I'd be hopeful of a good run."
