Full-steam ahead for Tattersalls Irish Guineas Festival Racing at the Curragh will resume with the Tattersalls Irish Guineas Festival on Friday and Saturday next and Chief Executive Pat Keogh says everyone is looking forward to getting back into action. “Can’t wait,” enthused Keogh before reflecting: “The start is put back by a number of weeks and whilst that’s disappointing it’s great that we’re off and the excitement here is palpable at the moment.” Keogh went on: “Everyone is looking forward to it. All the trainers, the jockeys, the stable lads, the whole community is really looking forward to racing. “Racing drives the whole industry. It’s a massive industry. It goes all the way back to the mares, foals and stallions and all bits in between. “It’s what happens on the racetrack that really matters. That is the stage for all of that and we just can’t wait for the Tattersalls Guineas weekend on Friday and Saturday next. “It’s disappointing that people won’t be able to be here as this is an exceptional new facility. “It’s wonderful — we had a few teething problems last year. We’ve dealt with those. We’ve made some changes during the winter. “We’ve made some additions to the Curragh. I think people are really going to like it when we come back. “We couldn’t wait to welcome the audience back here but that’ll just have to wait for a few weeks longer. “What we’re trying to do in the build up to the meetings this year and at the meetings themselves is to give people a sense of what the Curragh is all about and to give them a sense of that race day experience. “The racing here is going to be covered on Racing TV as indeed all races are. There will be extensive RTÉ coverage which is great.”
