The Connolly's RED MILLS Irish EBF Auction & Median Maiden Hurdle over two miles was the opener on a seven-race card on the inside track at Fairyhouse and Myluckymaker had little difficulty in landing odds of 8/13.

Runner-up in her previous four starts in bumpers, Jimmy Fyffe's five-year-old tracked market rival Lilannbee down to the first where the latter ceded the lead by jumping slowly. Alex Harvey went on aboard Myluckymaker and she jumped the last two flights well to account for Lilannbee by five lengths and make a winning debut over jumps.

“I'm relieved, we did fancy her coming here. I've always said to Jimmy that she'd be a better hurdler than a bumper filly,” said McConnell.

“She was unlucky, she probably could have won a bumper, but things just didn't fall her way in some of them.

“The money for this series is so good so it seemed like the right race for her.

“That's her minimum trip, and the ground is as quick as she wants.

“She'll be better on slower ground, over a longer trip. I'm not sure she'd handle the likes of Navan in December but she'll definitely handle more cut.

“She's just very tough and genuine which is hard to get, especially in fillies.

“I haven't looked beyond today but we'll definitely look for a novice. We might go to Scotland to see her owner.

“This in itself was a good pot so it's great to win it.”
