Galileo Gold firmly on course for Sussex date Hugo Palmer says Galileo Gold "looks a trillion dollars" the morning after his Royal Ascot heroics in the St James's Palace Stakes. The Paco Boy colt still holds an entry in the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown next month, but connections will not deviate from their original gameplan of running him in the Qatar Sussex Stakes at Goodwood on July 27. "It's been extraordinary in that every stride he's taken, he's improved physically. He looks a trillion dollars and he's never been better," said Palmer. "The Eclipse would only have come into play if he had got beaten at Ascot and Frankie (Dettori) said that he needed further. "I wouldn't rule out next year's Eclipse, but who knows. "The horse would have to be right, of course, but he's won before at Goodwood and the Sussex, which was the plan before Ascot, is still the obvious target."
