The international horses have begun their preparations for next month's Melbourne Cup.

The Racing Victoria website (www.racingvictoria.net.au) revealed that the TAB International Horse Centre at Werribee had become a hive of activity with all 16 international horses going through their paces.

There was confirmation that the Dermot Weld-trained Galileo's Choice had received some treatment for travel sickness upon arrival but he's bounced back quickly and has been on the track with the other horses over the past two days.

Among others to have touched down are Luca Cumani's Mount Athos who made his first appearance on the track along with stablemate My Quest For Peace.

The Australian website reported that both horses looked bright and keen as they stretched their legs, over a circuit of the course proper, for the first time since their arrival from the UK on Saturday.

The trainer's representative in Australia, Charlie Henson, tweeted: "All horses have recovered from the flight well and seem in good form. 11 Days till Quarantine finishes!"

Afsare and Ibicenco are other Cumani-trained runners to have travelled to Australia with the former heading to the Cox Plate later this month.

The globetrotting Jakkalberry also made his first appearance.
