Gamigin bags a sixth win Gamigin (9/2) notched a sixth success today, landing Wexford’s Slaney River Handicap Hurdle (Div II) for trainer Noel Kelly and jockey Oran McGill. Racing behind the leaders, the eight-year-old improved to lead before the second-last and scored readily by 5.5 lengths from Bossing It . Derry-based trainer Kelly commented “he likes the small, handy tracks, he is what he is and it wasn’t the strongest race in the world. He’s a wee summer ground horse, he’s back to himself now and ran a nice race today. The cut in the ground probably helped too. “He’s a grand horse, has won plenty of races in that grade and has been a good servant. We’ll pick something similar and hopefully the handicapper is realistic and isn’t too sore on him.” Quotes from Gary Carson
