Tom George fears he may have to wait until the spring before unleashing multiple Grade One winner God's Own.

The nine-year-old, who finished sixth on his return in the Old Roan Chase at Aintree in October, missed an intended outing in the Peterborough Chase earlier this month after it was re-routed from Huntingdon to Taunton.

George said: "He is a difficult horse to have things right for him at this time of year.

"We were hoping to go to the Peterborough Chase, he would have been fine going to Huntingdon. That was then cancelled, then we had to miss a day's work because of this and that, and he wasn't quite right for for the Taunton race.

"The ground is going against him now and this happens every season. It is all about the spring for him. It is just trying to work out whether we can get a run in somewhere or if we have to wait until the spring."
