George Washington's only foal to sell at Goffs The world's only George Washington foal will be offered for sale at Goffs November Foal Sale. Bred by Italian breeder Stefano Luciani of Azienda Agricola Luciani near Rome, who also bred last year's November Sale topping Galileo foal, the filly will be consigned by the Irish National Stud who feature amongst the leading vendors at this sale every year. George Washington was one of the most outstanding and charismatic racehorses of all time, having been crowned European Champion Two Year Old in 2005 and Champion Miler at three. Victory in the Stan James 2000 Guineas was the highlight of his multiple Group 1 winning career. Luciani, who bred the filly together with his father Loreto, remarked: "I was delighted to sell the highest priced foal at the 2007 November Sale and I look forward to returning to Goffs this year with the only George Washington foal in the world. The filly really looks like her sire ? in fact the similarity is incredible. She's a good bodied filly with plenty of bone and exudes quality". The filly is out of the Rainbow Quest mare Flawlessly and is a half sister to Group 3 winner Ombre Legere as well as Group 1 placed Flawly, the dam of French Derby runner up Best Name.
