Tiernan Power Roche rides out his 3lb claim Crowned champion conditional last term and in contention for this season's title , Tiernan Power Roche rode out his 3lb claim in style when Duffys Hodey, trained by Philip Rothwell for the Fairwood Racing Syndicate, readily landed Limerick's Vision Contracting Handicap Chase over two miles, three and a half furlongs. Disappointing on his previous couple of starts, but a course winner at the Christmas meeting, the 7/1 chance was patiently ridden and began to pick off rivals up the back straight on the final circuit. In front and travelling well before two out, he motored home to win by 11 lengths from Shanroe Act.  Power Roche and fellow Wexford man Eoin Staples are both on 24 winners for the season, one behind the current leader Micheal Kenneally.  "He is a great old servant, has been brilliant to me and that's his fourth win for me," said the winning rider.  "You'd be hoping he was capable of doing something like that from his lower chase rating, and he jumped very well today. That trip suited and he likes that ground." Additional reporting by Tom Weekes
