Ger draws a Lyons through Maire Rua's Cork run Ger Lyons saddled Suzie Songs to win the Platinum Stakes at Cork on Friday evening, but was left somewhat frustrated by Maire Rua's third-place finish in the Firville Stakes earlier on the card.  A ready winner on her debut at Leopardstown last month, the daughter of Frankel was beaten two and a half lengths by the stylish winner Alwaysanangel, but her trainer feels she was unable to give of her best after being hampered at the start.  “I won’t lie, I was disappointed coming off the stands and thought she wasn’t the filly I thought she was, but the first thing Colin (Keane) said was she got wiped out leaving the stalls which frightened the life out of her.  “He actually thought another horse struck into her and was going to pull her up. “It all went wrong so you’d draw a line through it and, after what Colin said, I can’t, or don’t even want, to remember the race!” Additional reporting by Tom Weekes
