Geraghty nearing return from injury Injury-plagued jockey Barry Geraghty hopes to return to the saddle within the next fortnight. Geraghty has had a rotten time with injuries of late and suffered the latest in a long list of setbacks when he sustained a hairline fracture of his shoulder blade in a fall at Killarney on August 26. But after undergoing treatment, the 37-year-old is now edging closer towards another comeback. He told the Irish Independent: "I've just talked with our chiropractor, it's improving and I'd be hoping for the weekend after this one to return." Geraghty was sidelined for three months last summer with a fractured right arm, and also missed the Cheltenham Festival this year due to fractured ribs and a collapsed lung suffered in a fall at Kempton.
