Gibbstown overcame a difficult journey from her Co. Dublin stables to land the Back Of The Net At BetVictor.com Handicap Chase at Ayr.

The Paul Stafford-trained 4/1 shot wore down long-time leader Trouble In Paris on the run-in to claim the contest.

The nine-year-old looked booked for second spot after Trouble In Paris went clear from three out, but his stride shortened in the closing stages, allowing 3lb claimer Derek Fox to seize the initiative on Gibbstown and snatch victory by a length and a quarter.

"She's a game mare, but it was touch and go getting here," said Stafford.

"The boats weren't going to take horses at first because of the weather, but we did a bit of switching around and got here eventually last night.

"She does her racing well but it was very testing ground so I won't take her to Thurles on Monday. We'll just see what the handicapper does and see where we go after that."

Trainer Nicky Richards and jockey Brian Harding stole the limelight with an 83-1 four-timer courtesy of Sir Vinski, Teddy Tee, Cultram Abbey and Another Bill.

"We've had a great day. The last horse (Another Bill) is a lovely horse - I think he'll make a smashing horse next year," said the Greystoke handler.

Another Bill (11-10 favourite) put the seal on a fine day for the pair when following up his course success on his debut nine weeks ago in the Download The BetVictor Instabet App Standard Open NH Flat Race.

The five-year-old, who was giving weight all round, denied Baby Bach from the Stuart Crawford yard in Larne by a head after a pulsating duel up the straight. The front two pulled 28 lengths clear of Jack Steel in third.
