Last year's Fred Winter winner Lark In The Mornin (10/3) made all the running in the Listowel Races Supporters Club Failte Abhaile (Q.R.) Race In Memory Of Pat Scanlon and clung on grimly in the closing stages to score by a head.

John Gleeson kicked a couple of lengths clear early in the home straight but Jetara , who had pursued the winner throughout, never gave up and came again in the closing stages to make things close at the line.

Gleeson said of the Joseph O'Brien-trained five-year-old: "He is a classy horse, is obviously a Cheltenham festival winner and I won on him in Bellewstown the last day, which was another nice performance.

"I knew Jetara would stay well so I didn't go overly hard the whole way and was quite happy to kick off the bend to take the sting out of her. The ground is very chewed up so I was conscious to keep him balanced riding under hands and heels to the line.

"In fairness to my horse he stays well, has a good honest attitude and he put his head down."
