Glitter And Glory gets Harrington off the mark Trainer Jessica Harrington got off the mark with her second runner of the new season at Dundalk today, as 74-rated Glitter And Glory (4/1) gained a deserved first success in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Maiden. The three-year-old filly had earned prizemoney in six of seven previous starts and while last of 30 runners in the Goffs Million last September, had recently taken well to all-weather racing. Today, under Shane Foley, she raced prominently and scored by 1.75 lengths from gambled newcomer County Carlow (1/1f). Harrington’s daughter and assistant Kate Harrington said "Glitter And Glory has been a model of consistency and, probably, her only bad run last year was in the Goffs Million which was on heavy ground. She has been so good up here and is just doing things right now. Seven furlongs is really her trip. "She wants good ground and hasn't had a recent break, so I think if we get a bit of nice weather now we will give her 10 days in the field and bring her back for Irish Guineas weekend for a fillies' handicap." "We said all last year that all the Lucky Vega's do is keep improving from two to three (years) and I think he is a sire that is going to have a very big season this year. "It is great for the girls (Glamour & Glory Syndicate) to have a winner and this is our second runner of the new season, so it is nice to have a guide.” Quotes from Michael Graham
